A race can mark the tie-breaker between the biggest winners at Interlagos in Stock Car racing and will have a debut on the grid. Stock Series and F4 Brazil are also on the weekend
This weekend, the Interlagos Speedway will host the seventh Stock Car round. The category returns to the main circuit of the national motor racing after holding the Double Race, the inaugural event in February, won by Gabriel Casagrande and Galid Osman.
The temple of motor sports has hosted 142 Stock Car races in its history and, of the current grid, Cacá Bueno and Thiago Camilo are the biggest winners, with seven, and there may be a tie-breaker between the two.
The race marks the opening of the second part of the season, marked, above all, by balance. Chevrolet and Toyota share the number of wins in the year - six each - and the difference between the leader and the vice-leader is only eleven points (184 x 173).
Interlagos will have interesting nuances to be evaluated. The championship's leading driver, Daniel Serra will not race this weekend and will be replaced by Felipe Fraga. The regulation allows drivers to eliminate their four worst results at the end of the season and, for this reason, the three-time Stock Championship winner will use the discarding process in this round.
Other new additions to the grid will be the return of Thiago Vivacqua, after his participation in the DTM, and Full TIme announced on Saturday (23) the debut of the Argentinean Andi Jakos, in place of Gianluca Petecof.
F4 Brazil holds second race of the season
A new category of single-seaters in Brazilian motorsport, F4 Brazil arrives at Interlagos ready to deliver a second round even more special than the first one. Pedro Clerot, from Full Time, leads the championship with 58 points, with Ricardo Gracia in second (37) and Nicholas Monteiro in third (30).
The race will have a special flavor for Álvaro Cho, who turned 16 and, finally, will be able to make his debut in the category.
GRANDE PRÊMIO follows the Stock Car activitiesLIVE with full coverage of all stages. The next round will be held at Interlagos on July 31.
