Marcos Gomes led the first free practice session held at Velopark on Friday (1). The Cavaleiro Sports driver posted a time of 56s264, only 0s064 ahead of second place Daniel Serra. In this session, the 34 drivers were divided into two groups, each with 30 minutes to do their fast laps.

The news announced before TL1 was the replacement of RKL Competições' Renato Braga, who will not be able to participate in this weekend's round, by Gabriel Robe. The gaúcho is driving for the second time this season, since he participated alongside Gabriel Casagrande in the Double Race at Interlagos in February.

Following the practice, the 2022 season leader Casagrande was third with 56s467. In fourth, Guilherme Salas, from KTF Racing, finished ahead of Thiago Camilo, from Ipiranga. In sixth place, Júlio Campos, from Lubrax Podium, set a best lap of 56s556.

Closing out the top ten were Ricardo Zonta (RCM), Rafael Suzuki (Bassani), Nelsinho Piquet (TMG), and Rubens Barrichello (Full Time).

The first group of drivers who entered included: Átila Abreu, Ricardo Maurício, Denis Navarro, Zonta, Felipe Baptista, Gianluca Petecof, Allam Khodair, Matías Rossi, Tony Kanaan, Rodrigo Baptista, Lucas Foresti, Campos, Gustavo Frigotto, Camilo, Beto Monteiro and Tuca Antoniazi.

In the second group, the participants were: Cacá Bueno, Suzuki, Gaetano Di Mauro, Felipe Massa, Galid Osman, Serra, César Ramos, Nelsinho, Robe, Pedro Cardoso, Bruno Baptista, Diego Nunes, Sergio Jimenez, Gomes, Casagrande, Salas, Felipe Lapenna, and Barrichello.

The best first and second sectors went to Salas, from KTF, with a time of 16s253 and 16s324, respectively. The last sector had the best time in the leader Gomes, with 23s476.
