The Argentinean raced for Toyota Gazoo Racing in the Turismo Carretera and debuts in the 2022 Stock Car season already in the next weekend at Interlagos
Full Time announced this Saturday (23) the debut of Argentinean driver Andi Jakos at the Interlagos round of Stock Car racing. He replaces Gianluca Petecof and will be Rubens Barrichello's teammate next weekend at Interlagos.
The rotation is part of the integration between the team and the Toyota assembler and was already expected to happen this year. Petecof participated in the first half of the 2022 Stock Car season and scored 42 points for Full Time.
In a video posted on Instagram, Full Time's boss, Maurício Ferreira, explained the reasons for making the change. "We have news that are not so new, after all, it was planned since the beginning of the year to make this rotation with Latin American drivers. This was our project with Toyota Gazoo Racing. We drove five weekends with Gianluca and it was great, he is a 19 year-old boy who evolved a lot for someone who had never raced a touring car before.
Maurício followed his statement saying that Full Time wants to expand its brand to other Latin countries. "We are in a new phase, seeking to internationalize our brand, bringing new Argentinean drivers to the category, and we hope Jakos has the best learning possible in Stock Car," he added.
Coming from Turismo Carretera, the most popular competition in Argentina, Jakos is looking forward to his first experience in Stock Car. "I am very grateful and happy for the opportunity given by Toyota Gazoo Racing and Full Time. I am delighted to be part of this family and look forward to a great weekend at Interlagos next week."
