Leader of the 2022 Stock Car season, Casagrande came to Velopark willing to win his first triumph at the track. The pole-position this Saturday (2nd) looks like an excellent start

Gabriel Casagrande did not come to Velopark for pleasure. Eager to break the script to win a triumph at a track he has never won, the A. Mattheis Vogel driver battled wheel-to-wheel with Ricardo Zonta to win the pole-position at the Rio Grande do Sul round this Saturday (2).
The time of 56s191 was not the fastest of the weekend, but it was enough to grant the pilot from the state of Paraná his second pole position of the 2022 Stock Car season and, consequently, two more points in the classification table, up to 130.
Gabriel made sure to share with his team the merits for the achievement obtained this morning. "I thank the team for giving me a car in conditions to fight for podiums and victories even with 30 kilos of ballast, I'm very happy with our performance," he said.

Casagrande also admitted to counting on a bit of luck to make the perfect lap. "I fit the lap in Q3 and couldn't repeat it afterwards, but it's just the beginning. There will be four races throughout the weekend, so the season's leader doesn't intend to take his foot off the pedal and wants to keep up his excellent performance at Velopark.
"We have a lot to do for the afternoon, and tomorrow as well. Let's see if we can keep up our pace and leave here with a lot of points in our baggage," added Gabriel.
