Chase Elliott didn't have the strongest car at Nashville Superspeedway, but he came alive when it mattered most on Sunday night. He won for the second time this season, holding off Kurt Busch after a restart with four laps to go.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver was kept on track with nine other drivers when the final yellow flag of the "Ally 400" for possible burned engine fluid from Josh Bilicki with nine laps to go. A clean relarge sealed the victory for Elliott.

Elliott led 42 of the 300 laps, including the last 39. He made a second pit stop under a brief rain yellow on lap 118 for a right rear-end adjustment. He was running fifth before losing his track position.

Elliott also won on concrete at Dover Motor Speedway earlier this season. He remains the NASCAR Cup Series points leader with nine races remaining in the regular season. He is the fifth driver to have more than one win in 2022.

Busch finished second, Ryan Blaney third, Kyle Larson fourth, and Ross Chastain completed the top five. Pole Denny Hamlin was sixth after leading 114 laps. Hamlin was one of those who chose to stop under the final yellow and had the best result of this group of drivers.

Austin Cindric finished seventh, Christopher Bell eighth, Joey Logano ninth and Kevin Harvick 10th. Martin Truex Jr. led 82 laps and won the first two stages. Truex, however, finished 22nd after stopping under the final yellow and losing his track position.

Sunday's race was stopped three times due to weather, which included two red flags for a total of 3 hours and nine minutes. There were 10 cautions in total. The race had 18 lead changes among seven drivers.
