Lin Jarvis explained that the Turkish rider's test on the YZR-M1 remains on schedule, but pointed out that without a satellite team there is no possibility of promoting him from the Superbike World Championship to MotoGP
Yamaha has closed the doors to MotoGP for Toprak Razgatlioglu for the 2023 season. Iwata team principal Lin Jarvis explained that without a satellite team, there is no place for the Turk to transfer from the Superbike World Championship.
According to Jarvis, the planned test with the Turk is still scheduled, as it is also a reward for his victory in the production bike series last year, but without a satellite team in MotoGP, it is impossible to give Toprak a chance in the World Championship.

Last week, RNF, Yamaha's current satellite team, announced an alliance with Aprilia, leaving the brand of the three tuning forks with only two bikes on the MotoGP grid in 2023. For now, only Franco Morbidelli has a signed contract for next year, but Fabio Quartararo is also expected to renew his contract.
"The meaning behind this test was his interest in testing a MotoGP bike. Secondly, it was a reward from Yamaha for his championship last year and his commitment to Yamaha in the future," Jarvis said in an interview with the MotoGP website. "So the biggest goal of the test remains the same. To relax, to test, to enjoy and to taste a MotoGP bike, to feel what it would be like if he made the change in the future," he continued.
"But obviously this news of not having a satellite team, anyway means we don't have a spot, period, because we will only have two bikes in the factory team," he stressed.
