Q1: Holgado advances to Q2 with Fernández, Artigas and Nepa. Moreira is eliminated
Unlike Friday when the World Championship was met with rain, the weather was only cloudy on Saturday, but the track was dry, at least in the early stages of qualifying. When the Moto3 riders took to the track, the thermometers read 24°C on a partly cloudy afternoon, with the asphalt reaching 30°C. The relative humidity was around 59%, with wind speeds reaching 8 km/h.
When the first laps were recorded in the opening qualifying session it was Xavi Artigas who appeared in the lead with a lap of 1min47s920, 0s494 better than Adrián Fernández. Diogo Moreira was third, with Stefano Nepa completing the top four. Dani Holgado was fifth, 0s206 down on the cut-off line for the next stage.

Last on track, Carlos Tatay was riding solo midway through the session and took eighth place, still 1s020 behind the leader Holgado.
As is traditionally the case in Moto3, there was a long delay at the exit of the pit-lane, with riders waiting for one another in the hope of being able to use the vacuum of a faster rider.
With the clock ticking down, Holgado and Fernández took the flag with no further improvements, but retained the lead of the session. Nepa managed to jump up to fourth, with Moreira even improving, but only to take fifth place, 0s122 inside the elimination zone.
So Holgado, Fernández, Artigas and Nepa will go to Q2, while Moreira will start 19th, ahead of Toba, Iván Ortolá, Elia Bartolini, Carlos Tatay, Scott Ogden. Alberto Surra, Taiyo Furusato, Mario Aji, Ana Carrasco, Joshua Whatley, and Luca Lunetta.
