11 days after fracturing his left wrist in an accident caused by Takaaki Nakagami in the first corner of the Catalunya GP, the Suzuki Spaniard has been cleared by doctors at Sachsenring to compete in this weekend's German GP

Álex Rins has been medically cleared to ride in this weekend's German MotoGP GP. The Spaniard, who fractured his left wrist in the controversial accident with Takaaki Nakagami at the Catalunya GP, had already been cleared by his private doctor on Wednesday.

In the Catalunya race, Nakagami tried to gain a number of positions at the first brake, but crashed, hit his head on Francesco Bagnaia's rear wheel, caused the Italian to fall, and collected Rins on the way. The Japanese rider spent the night under observation in the ICU of a local hospital, but escaped major injury, while

As is customary in MotoGP whenever an injured rider returns to action, Rins underwent a medical examination led by Dr. Ángel Charte, MotoGP medical director, and the local doctor, at the circuit on Thursday and was cleared to take to the track.

"Álex has worked hard on his recovery and has now been declared fit by the circuit doctors to ride this weekend," announced Suzuki on Twitter. "We are on your side, partner!" it added.

On Wednesday, the Hamamatsu-based house, which is leaving MotoGP at the end of 2022, had already announced that Rins had been cleared by Dr. Xavier Mir to race at Sachsenring.

"Álex Rins came to visit me on Wednesday morning before traveling to Germany to assess the condition of his wrist. We did some tests and it seems that the fracture is doing well, but it is not yet consolidated," Dr. Mir explained. "It [the fracture] has not moved and is settling. Álex wants to try to ride, but he may need some painkillers and physiotherapy in these days," he added.
