The Suzuki rider was knocked down by Takaaki Nakagami in the first corner of the Barcelona circuit. The Spaniard will take a rest and was barred from the MotoGP test on Monday
Álex Rins did not escape unscathed from the crash with Takaaki Nakagami at turn 1 of the Catalunya GP. On Sunday night (5), the Spaniard underwent an MRI scan at the Dexeus Hospital in Barcelona, which showed a fracture in his left wrist.
12th on the grid, Nakagami started the race fast and delayed the brakes to try to take sixth place in the first meters. The steering of the RC213V, however, braked, causing the Japanese rider to crash, as he touched Francesco Bagnaia's wheel, knocking the Italian out. To make matters worse, the LCR rider collected Álex Rins, who crashed heavily.

Initial tests indicated a fracture of the pyramidal or triquetal bone, without displacement, but an MRI also showed that there was no damage to the ligaments. The Spaniard also underwent an evaluation of his left ankle, where he has pain, and the doctors found inflammation.
Because of the injuries, Rins' wrist was immobilized, and he will have regular treatment with ice and electromagnetic therapy, with anti-inflammatories and rest. As a result, Álex was barred from the MotoGP test on Monday in Barcelona.
"Álex Rins suffered a trauma to his left wrist. We did clinical, radiological, CT and MRI tests, which confirmed: a fracture in the body of the pyramidal bone of the left carpal, with a significant perifracture bone edema," explained physician Xavier Mir, head of the Elbow, Hand and Microsurgery Unit at Dexeus University Hospital. "We believe it should be treated with a rigid immobilization and electromagnetic therapy for ten days, with another examination in this period of time," he closed.
Álex will undergo further tests before he is able to return to action at the German GP at Sachsenring on June 19.
