Severe pain and breathing difficulties rule out Spaniard Pol Espargaró from the MotoGP Dutch GP. Honda will have only Stefan Bradl in the main team in Assen
Pol Espargaró is out of the MotoGP Netherlands GP. In an announcement made by Honda on Saturday morning (25), the Spanish rider cited a rib pain as the reason for the withdrawal. The injury occurred after a crash in free practice 1 at the German GP last week, a race in which he abandoned after eight laps.
The rider even tried to race, but after free practice 2 in the Netherlands, he still felt intense pain and discomfort in breathing, which made the Spaniard unable to compete at Assen this weekend, making the decision in conjunction with Honda.

The team cites that it expects a recovery from Espargaró so that he can return to compete in the next round, the British GP, which takes place on August 7. It will be the first race after the summer break, which starts after the race in Assen.
With Pol's absence, German Stefan Bradl will be the only representative of the Honda factory team in Assen. Interestingly, the race will not have any of the team's starters, as multi-time champion Marc Márquez is out for medical reasons following surgery after the Italian GP.
