The main name of Brazilian motorcycling today, Eric Granado will start from the front row in the Dutch round of the MotoE World Cup. The LCR rider was one of the highlights of the qualifying session held on Friday (24) and took second position on the grid for the first race of the double-header scheduled for the Assen circuit. The pole position was taken by Swiss Dominique Aegerter of the Dynavolt team, with a lap just one tenth of a second faster than Granado's.

"We had little time on a dry track and even so we managed to get the second fastest time on the grid for both races, Saturday and Sunday," said Granado. "So the day was pretty positive, because I also led the only practice of the weekend. I tried for pole position, but starting from the front row is important, because it gives us conditions to search for the race lead from the beginning of the two races," Granado added, right after the end of qualifying.

Fastest in the wet - Theonly free practice of the weekend was held on a wet track, with the Brazilian topping the session in a double header for LCR, as his Spanish teammate Miquel Pons was second. In Q2, Granado took second place on a dry track.

"Our bike showed a good rhythm both in the wet and in the dry, and this gives us a lot of confidence for the sequence of the weekend. We have conditions to fight for the two wins to close the gap to the championship leader in the standings," added Granado, the only rider on the grid who has competed in every race in MotoE's history.

MotoE's schedule at Assen includes the first race of the weekend on Saturday (25), starting at 11:15 am. On Sunday, race 2 is scheduled for 10:30 am. ESPN and Star+ will show both races live.
