The 2020 champion evaluated that the next season will see many changes in the composition of the teams, but considered that everything is still very uncertain

Joan Mir assessed that those who fall behind schedule may end up without a bike in the 2023 MotoGP season. The Suzuki rider classified the rider market for next year as "chaotic" and evaluated that it is still difficult to know who goes where in the next championship.
A 2020 champion, Mir is one of those who still has no contract for next year. The Spaniard from Palma de Mallorca was moving towards a renewal with Suzuki, but was taken by surprise with the Hamamatsu factory's decision to leave MotoGP at the end of the year, and now has to find a new address.

From the beginning, most speculation has pointed to him as Pol Espargaró's successor at Honda, but for now, the announcement is still pending.
"Next year we will have many changes," Mir told Spanish newspaper Marca. "Seeing how the market is, a lot of people will leave the factories where they are and go to others. It will be interesting. Looking from the outside, the market is chaos. Looking at the press, it's a chaos," he commented.
"In my case, at first they put me at Honda. Then, suddenly, they put me on Yamaha. Then they put me on Ducati. Now they put me back on Honda...it's chaos," he commented. "It's not very clear. It's not very clear where people are going to be. I have no idea," he stressed.
Asked if he thinks any top rider is in danger of being left out of MotoGP in 2023, Mir replied, "It's possible. I see the market complicated. If the agents don't move fast, whoever is sleeping on the spot could be without a bike next year."
