Marc Márquez went through a "satisfactory medical review" this Saturday (18). Two weeks after the surgery performed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, in the United States, the rider was consulted by doctors Joaquin Sánchez Sotelo, Samuel Antuña and Angel Cotorro and received positive feedback regarding the fourth surgery on the humerus of the right arm.

The doctors recommended that Márquez continue with immobilization and controlled exercises for the next four weeks, when he will undergo a new evaluation.

Last May 31, Marc underwent the fourth surgery on his right arm since he suffered a fracture in the opening of the 2020 season. In the procedure, performed in the state of Minnesota, doctors corrected a 30° rotation of the bone and now hope to restore the mobility lost in the long process since the injury originally suffered in Jerez de la Frontera.

"Today I went through a medical review in Madrid and the doctors were happy," said Márquez. "My arm is immobilized and it will stay that way for the next few weeks. My sensations are positive because I have no pain, which is very positive," he continued.

"This allows me to rest and follow the doctors' rules: a healthy diet, drink a lot and try to walk with the dogs, because it is important that the body is not inactive," he pondered. "The most important thing for my doctors is that I stay calm and patient," he added.

Dr. Joaquin Sánchez Sotelo, head of the shoulder and elbow surgery division at the Mayo Clinic, commented that the medical team accompanying Márquez has done a satisfactory review.

"Today Marc Márquez underwent a satisfactory medical review in Madrid with Dr. Antuña, Dr. Cotorro and myself, confirming a positive evolution in surgical healing," Sotelo told. "Starting today, he will start doing controlled exercises of passive mobilization of the shoulder and elbow until the next revision in four weeks," he concluded.

Also on Saturday, Honda boss Alberto Puig said he hopes to have Marc back by the end of the 2022 season, although he did not specify a date for his return.
