Honda driver underwent a medical check-up this Friday (15) at Ruber Internacional Hospital, in Madrid, and, besides getting rid of the sling, he was released to start cardiovascular training and physical therapy on his right arm

Marc Márquez took another step in the recovery process from the fourth surgery on his right arm. The Honda rider underwent a medical review on Friday (15) and, besides getting rid of the sling, was released to start cardiovascular training and physiotherapy on the operated limb.
At the end of May, Marc withdrew from MotoGP to undergo a fourth surgery on his right arm, still because of the fracture he suffered at Jerez de la Frontera in the opening of the 2020 season. This time, the six-time premier class champion operated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, United States, by the hands of Dr. Joaquin Sánchez Sotelo, but continues the medical follow-up with doctors Samuel Antuña and Ángel Cotorro.

"We have taken an important step in the recovery process," said Márquez. "In this second check-up, the doctors confirmed that the humerus is consolidating properly, so we can start physical therapy on the right arm and cardiovascular training," he followed.
"I am very excited to be able to regain mobility in my arm to continue advancing the recovery process, and I want to thank the entire medical team for their treatment and attention," he closed.
Head of the shoulder and elbow surgery division at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Sotelo pointed out that Márquez's tests showed good "clinical and radiological" evolution, which allows the rider to enter a new phase of recovery. According to the doctor, the new review will take place within a month and a half.
"In the medical check-up performed on Marc Márquez six weeks after surgery on the right humerus, a good clinical and radiological evolution was confirmed, which allows progress in mobility and strengthens the right arm recovery program," Dr. Sotelo commented. "The patient will undergo a further review in the next six weeks," he closed.
