Honda boss Alberto Puig sees Marc Márquez as "very positive and active" in his recovery and expects him to return to the track later this year

Marc Márquez has stepped away from MotoGP to undergo a fourth surgery on his right arm. The procedure was done this month and considered a success. The Honda rider is already recovering at home, in Spain, and is keeping his social networks active with the step-by-step process to return to the World Championship - a return that may happen sooner than expected.
Initially, Márquez announced during the Italian GP that he would be stepping away indefinitely. But Honda boss Alberto Puig seems to already have a date in mind for the Spaniard's return to the track.
"Yes," he replied in an interview with Spain's DAZN, when asked if he expects Márquez in the final stretch of the championship.

"But I don't know when. The doctor has already said: only when the bone is consolidated and we can see on a CT scan or an X-ray that he won't have any problem. It will be very important that he can come back and test the bike. We have training and testing at the end of the season, which is very important for the bike next year," he added.
Even though he didn't set a date for the multi-champion's return, he emphasized that he is hopeful about his recovery. He also stated that Marc is happy, as the Cervera rider had hoped that this fourth surgery would be an 'end point' in his tough injury trajectory.
"Marc is very happy, the truth is that he is doing well. Since he came back from the U.S., he got into a good dynamic. He is very optimistic, positive. Now he will soon have a first check-up with the doctors.Little by little. He has already started to move his hand.He is active, not sitting on the couch," he revealed.
"The important thing is that there are no complications and everything is going very well. Normally, you already know how it is. After an intervention, if you don't feel anything [of pain] as the days go by, it's very positive," Puig closed.
