Alberto Puig celebrated the six-time champion's return home and said that the driver will be re-evaluated by doctors every two or three weeks. The manager underlined that the priority is the calcification of the bone in his right arm
Honda boss Alberto Puig preached caution in the recovery process of Marc Márquez. The manager stressed that the priority is the calcification of the right arm humerus and argued that the rider needs to face the process step by step.
Last week, Marc underwent the fourth surgery on his right arm since he suffered a fracture in the opening of the 2020 season. In the procedure, performed at the Mayo Clinic in the United States, doctors corrected a 30° rotation of the bone and now hope to restore the mobility lost in the long process since the injury originally suffered at Jerez de la Frontera.

In statements distributed to the press by Repsol, the team's sponsor, Puig made it clear that the medical guidelines will be followed to the letter. Part of the complications faced by Márquez were the result of a clumsy attempt at an early return to the track.
"They will evaluate the situation more or less every two or three weeks. The priority now is to heal the bone and avoid any major complications," Puig said, "We are very happy that he is back home and can start thinking about the recovery of his right humerus. It's good that he can come home from the hospital soon, limiting the time he spends out of his seat," he celebrated.
"The doctor has already said that Marc has to go step by step, with periodic controls with Dr. Samuel Antuña in Spain. Both medical teams are collaborating closely and this is very important," he pointed out.
