MotoE's sole rider, Maria Herrera is about to make history in the World Motorcycle Championship. This is because, in partnership with the Angeluss MTA team, she will take part in the Aragon Moto3 GP on September 18 in a team run entirely by women.

The project is conceived by Aurora Angelucci, CEO of Angeluss, and seeks to promote the presence of women in motorcycling, as well as to contribute to reducing gender disparity in motor sport. Herrera will be part of the first initiative put in place.

"I am very happy to be part of this project and to have the opportunity to compete as a wild-card in Moto3 this year with an all-female team. I think Angeluss' main goal is to help future female riders and I can help pave the way, as I have been doing for several years now," said Maria.

"I accepted this opportunity readily, as giving visibility to an all-female team is an initiative that immediately caught my attention. It will be an incredible experience, in which I will also be able to relive my old Moto3 days," she added.

The 25-year-old will take part in training sessions weeks before the GP and will ride a KTM in her wild-card appearance. She already has experience in the category: she has participated in three seasons - 2015, 2016 and 2017 - and finished in the scoring zone eight times. She made her MotoE debut in 2019, after venturing one year in the Supersport 300.
