After three free practices at Sachsenring, Francesco Bagnaia appears at the top of the MotoGP timesheet and is guaranteed Q2 in Germany. See the other nine riders already guaranteed a place in the final part of qualifying
After finishing Friday with the best practice time, Francesco Bagnaia once again set the best time in the morning session on Saturday (18) with 1min19s765, again breaking the Sachsenring track record.
Aleix Espargaró tried to take the lead from the Italian, but was 0s064s behind, with Jack Miller rounding out the top three. The Pramac duo, Johann Zarco and Jorge Martín, were fourth and fifth, respectively.
MOTOGP STANDINGS
▶️Quartararo relies on talent and luck to extend MotoGP lead
Fabio Quartararo, Joan Mir, Luca Marini, Takaaki Nakagami and Maverick Viñales also booked direct spots in Q2 in Germany.
The competition in Q1 is promising, as important names were left out of the initial guarantee of participation in the qualifying part of the session. Enea Bastianini, Pol Espargaró and Álex Rins, for example, will go to Q1 to fight for the last two spots.
