Acosta fractures femur in motocross accident and misses Dutch GP in Moto2

KTM Spaniard Pedro Acosta fractured his femur while training and will be a casualty of the Dutch Moto2 GP, which takes place next weekend at Assen

Spanish rider Pedro Acosta, who currently competes in Moto2 for KTM, fractured his femur while training on Tuesday (21) on a motocross bike and will miss the next round of the championship, the Dutch GP next Sunday. The information is from the portal El Periodico, and says that the 18-year-old rider will undergo surgery to recover from the fracture at the Dexeus Quirón Institute in Barcelona.

Despite the incident, the fracture was considered 'clean' and Acosta should not miss any more stages due to the problem. Thus, the tendency is that he will be available again for the next stage in England.

Moto3 champion in 2021 - when he was in his first season in the category - Acosta took his first Moto2 victory by winning the Italian GP, the eighth round of this year's championship. The fracture comes at a time that has been good for the Spaniard, who added another podium in Germany with second place and is looking to recover from three retirements in four races between the GP of the Americas and the French GP.

The Dutch GP takes place this weekend, between June 24th and 26th, in Assen.
