Miles Rowe overcame rival Michael D'Orlando to win USF2000 race 2 at Mid-Ohio, his second consecutive win of the weekend
The American Miles Rowe won race 2 of the USF2000 race held this Saturday morning (2) at Mid-Ohio. Starting from second position, the Pabst Racing driver overtook Cape Motorsports' Michael D'Orlando to take his fourth win of the season. Rowe had already won the first race at Mid-Ohio on Friday (1), going head to head.
Jace Denmark, also of Pabst, completed the podium. Nikita Johnson was fourth, followed by Nicky Hays, Jagger Jones, Jacob Douglas, Nicholas D'Olando, Spike Kohlbecker, and Jackson Lee.
The race was stopped twice by yellow flags. On the third lap, American Dylan Christie of DE Force and New Zealander Billy Frazer of Exclusive Autosports touched each other in turn 4 and had to retire. In the restart, Rowe overtook D'Orlando, which gave him the win.
The second yellow came at the end of the race, when American Bijoy Garg crashed in turn 9, and the race ended under the yellow flag.
With the result, Rowe increased his lead in the USF2000 series, with 274 points to D'Orlando's 251. The category returns this Saturday for race 3 at Mid-Ohio.
