Scott McLaughlin held off Alex Palou to win at Mid-Ohio, but the race was really marked by the conflicts at Andretti. All four drivers in Michael Andretti's squad were involved in incidents with a teammate, but none of them generated as many sparks as the collisions between Alexander Rossi and Romain Grosjean.

The American ended up taking the Frenchman's space twice, and in the second time Romain ended up on the wall and the yellow flag was triggered. The accident angered the former Haas Formula 1 driver, who called his teammate an "idiot" after the race. But in the view of the driver of the #27 car, the touch was just a normal racing incident.

"It was just a racing incident, he was on the softer tires and was probably going to be able to pass me and he likes to overtake fast and early. But I ended up sliding the rear and obviously it's very bad to touch a teammate, but it just happened," Alexander explained.

Rossi recently agreed to leave Andretti for McLaren after seven years with the team. Asked if the status for the 2023 Indy season had changed his way of competing with teammates, the American stressed that switching teams does not influence anything.

"No, of course not. We are all teammates, we drive for Andretti and we are trying to get the best results possible," concluded Rossi, who finished the Mid-Ohio GP in 19th position.

Alexander is currently eighth in the Indy standings, while Grosjean is only 14th. The category returns on July 17, for the Toronto GP, with full coverage by GRANDE PRÊMIO.
