Graham Rahal said he felt bad seeing the team's effort not being rewarded on the track after finishing the Indianapolis 500 in 14th place

Two-time winners of the Indy 500, Rahal Letterman performed disappointingly throughout the month of May in 2022. Two of the team's three cars qualified on the last row, while Graham Rahal earned a modest 21st place on the grid.
In the race, all three finished in better positions than the starting position, but the performance left something to be desired. Rahal's best result was a 14th place finish, and he lamented that even with the team's hard work, the car didn't have the performance necessary to fight further to the front of the Indy 500 field.
"We just didn't perform well. The car didn't have the natural speed that we needed. I feel bad for the team because they put heart and soul into it, and today was a great example. The balance of the car wasn't that bad. We were close to the other cars, but I couldn't take advantage of the vacuum to overtake," said the American driver.

"The mechanics did a good job in the pits and that's why we gained positions in the race, thanks to them. We will dig deep to find out what exactly we need to be better at. Now it's focus on Detroit. I'm excited for Thursday and Friday next week. Let's get back on track and move forward," Graham concluded.
With the result, Rahal is currently 14th in the drivers' standings. IndyCar racing returns next Sunday with the Detroit GP at Belle Isle Park, with full coverage fromGRANDE PRÊMIO.
