Will Power was unable to set a fast lap in Toronto qualifying because of a red flag and will once again start from the back of the grid

Power stresses "frustration" after 16th in Toronto GP qualifying

Indy's second-place leader Will Power had another complicated qualifying session on Saturday (16), this time in Toronto. The Australian driver couldn't set his fast lap in the first part of the session, which was interrupted twice with the red flag. The second, caused by Kyle Kirkwood, made him abort a lap that probably would have put him in the top 6.

As a result, Power will start only in 16th position. This will be the fourth consecutive race that the Penske driver will start from 15th position. The Australian regretted the lack of luck and emphasized the frustration of having to climb the field once again when he had a car fast enough to qualify at the front.

"I should know that you always need to stay in the top six because that can happen. I had a very fast car again. It's insane. It's three races in a row where we were in the top positions in free practice before qualifying and then between 15th and 19th," Will recalled after qualifying in Toronto.

"It's frustrating man, frustrating. I got to turn six and was improving four tenths. That would have been enough to go forward," concluded the Penske driver.

Power will try to repeat his performances in Detroit, when he won the race starting 16th, and Mid-Ohio, where he finished on the podium after starting 21st in the gird. The start of the Toronto GP is scheduled for 4:20 pm EST, with full coverage by GRANDE PRÊMIO.
