Hunter McElrea dominated the Indy Lights weekend at Mid-Ohio, leading all 35 laps of the race and taking the first victory of his Indy Lights career

New Zealander Hunter McElrea dominated and won for the first time in his Indy Lights career on Sunday (3) at Mid-Ohio. The Andretti driver led all weekend sessions and, starting from the pole-position, led all 35 laps of the race, giving no chance to his rivals.
Australian Matthew Brabham, also from Andretti, finished second, 2s682 seconds behind McElrea. The championship leader, Swede Linus Lundqvist, completed the podium.

Christian Rasmussen and Sting Ray Robb, both of Andretti, finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Benjamin Pedersen, Christian Bogle, Antonio Serravalle, Kyffin Simpson and Ernie Francis Jr. completed the top ten.
With the result, McElrea gained three positions in the standings and currently occupies fourth place, 98 points behind Lundqvist, who has an 87-point lead over Robb in second place. Indy Lights returns on July 23, for the Iowa GP.
