Current USF2000 champion Kiko Porto started Saturday's Mid-Ohio round of the 2000 Indy Pro Series well. The only Brazilian driver in the Road to Indy categories finished the first race of the day in the Lexington circuit in the fourth position, after being close to the leaders during the 30 laps of the race.
The Pernambuco native was very combative during the entire race, always pushing his rivals that were ahead of him, and at the same time not suffering with attacks from his opponents that came from behind. In the last lap, Porto opened an attack on the third-placed driver, but was unable to complete the overtake.
"The result is very positive and shows that we were right to make big changes in the car after the Road America round. I had a very good performance all weekend and I've hit the podium door now. Today we still have one more race to go and I will go in search of this podium", said Kiko, who is sponsored by Banco Daycoval.
The second race of the Mid-Ohio round of the Indy Pro 2000 will be held later today, starting at 6:55 pm, and will be broadcasted by the Road to Indy channel on YouTube.
