Indy Pro 2000: Kiko Porto scores two top-10 finishes in Toronto

Kiko Porto had a weekend where he had to be resilient and patient in Toronto, where the Indy Pro 2000 held another double round. The driver, current USF2000 champion, obtained a seventh place finish this Sunday (17) in the circuit set up in the streets of the Canadian city, after placing ninth in the first race of the weekend, still on Saturday.

The only Brazilian in the Road to Indy categories, access championships for those who seek a career at Indy, Kiko needed to be calm to gain positions on Sunday. After starting from the 12th position, Porto moved up to the ninth position quickly, and had to escape an accident with two competitors in front of him to climb to the seventh place.

Previously, the driver had taken ninth place on Saturday, in a race in which he fought to stay in the top ten throughout the race. Porto sees the weekend's results in a positive light considering the difficulties he faced in Canada, but he will work with DEForce Racing to find answers for this weekend's performance.

"We know we can do more, proof of that was the victory we got there at Mid-Ohio. We will see what happened to the car in this interval without racing, but we will do a review. With all of this, finishing in the top-10 in both races this weekend can be considered positive", said Kiko Porto, who is sponsored by Banco Daycoval.

The Indy Pro 2000 will have a hiatus of a little over a month until the next round, when the drivers leave for the Gateway round, the last oval circuit of the 2022 season, on August 20th.
