Colton Herta became the first driver of the 2022 Indy season to earn two pole-positions and heaped praise on the Andretti car after qualifying in Canada

Colton Herta confirmed Andretti's favoritism and took the pole-position for the Toronto GP on Saturday (16). The American outqualified Ganassi's Scott Dixon with a time of 59s269, and became the first driver to have two poles in the 2022 Indy season, breaking a streak of nine different drivers in the top position in the first nine rounds.
Herta revealed that the session was more complicated from the inside of the car, and that he was only able to put in a lap on his last attempt. The 22-year-old was also surprised by the performance of the cars with the red tires used, and hopes to take advantage of this in the race this Sunday (17).
"It was an intense session, we hadn't found this time until the last moment. I'm very happy with this lap, everything went well, the car was working perfectly. You don't often see people going faster on used red tires than on new ones, so it's something to think about for tomorrow. But I'm happy with my car, it's very fast," praised Colton.

Herta had already been fastest in the second free practice on Saturday morning in Toronto. On Friday, his teammate Alexander Rossi led TL1. Rossi will start fourth, and Andretti, which experienced an internal crisis after the Mid-Ohio GP, placed its four cars in the top twelve, placing itself as a favorite for the race.
"It's always good to drive a car that you know you can get there if things go well. We got everything right, the car was fantastic, the team did a fantastic job and thank you Honda, a double today, which is amazing. We're ready for tomorrow," concluded the American.
Herta will now go in search of his second win of the Indy season. The start of the Toronto GP is scheduled for 4pm EST, and the race will be fully covered by GRANDE PRÊMIO.
