Marcus Ericsson remains Indy's leader after the Iowa double round, but the lead is shrinking. Josef Newgarden threw away his chance and dropped to third
After a sixth-place finish in race 2 of the IndyCar Series in Iowa, Swede Marcus Ericsson maintained his championship lead. However, his lead is still decreasing. With 403 points, now there are only 8 to the new second-place finisher, Will Power.
In the race held this Sunday (24), Power came in second, taking his fourth podium in the last six races, and cutting the gap to Marcus, which reached 35 before the double round in the land of corn.

Josef Newgarden, winner of Saturday's race, was heading for another win on Sunday and would most likely be the championship leader before he crashed. Now he drops to third, and is tied with Scott Dixon on 369 points.
Winner at Iowa, Pato O'Ward gained position in the standings, and now sits fifth with 367, while defending champion Álex Palou now sits sixth in the championship with 359 points.
Scott McLaughlin, Colton Herta, Felix Rosenqvist, and Alexander Rossi complete the top-10.
