Scott Dixon won for the 52nd time in his Indy career at Toronto and tied Mario Andretti for the most wins in IndyCar history

Scott Dixon broke a 22-race fast, overtook Colton Herta and finally won for the first time in the 2022 season at Toronto. This was the New Zealander's fourth win at the circuit and 52nd career victory, tying him with Michael Andretti as the second most wins in the history of the category. The two are second only to AJ Foyt, who has 67 wins.
Andretti used his social media to praise Dixon's achievement, congratulating both the driver and his team, Ganassi, and wishing him even more success in the future.

"My utmost respect to my friend Scott Dixon, I am truly happy to be able to congratulate him on his 52 wins. I also want to congratulate his team, because nobody can do it alone. I hope this is just one more step in your journey. Congratulations," said Mario after the race.
With the result, Dixon moved closer to title contention, which would be his seventh of his career. The New Zealander now has 307 points, 44 less than Marcus Ericsson, his Ganassi teammate. Indy returns next Saturday (23), for the Iowa 1 GP, with complete coverage from GRANDE PRÊMIO.
