May always arrives! The 106th edition of the Indianapolis 500 is coming up, and on Tuesday (17th), the official schedule of the most traditional race in American motorsports begins. The entry list has been made official with 33 cars, avoiding the chance of the shortest grid since 1947, and the first free practice sessions begin.
Already on Tuesday, the first free practice takes place dedicated to oval veterans, while in the afternoon, Cusick DragonSpeed's Stefan Wilson will have two hours free to complete the traditional rookie orientation program and 'refreshers'. The Englishman, who has three Indy 500 appearances to his name, was the last one confirmed. The other rookies in this edition completed the program in April.
The rest of the free practice sessions will be open to all cars. Qualifying begins on the 21st, with 12 cars advancing to the pole position on Sunday (22nd). The start will take place the following week, on the 29th.
