Brazilian Helio Castroneves failed to make it past the first part of qualifying in Canada, but believes the Toronto circuit can help him have a good race on Sunday

Brazilian Helio Castroneves did not perform as well as he had hoped in qualifying this Saturday (16) for the Toronto GP. The veteran will start alongside his teammate, Frenchman Simon Pagenaud, on the ninth row of the grid. After having a competitive pace in free practice, Meyer Shank couldn't stand out in qualifying, and Helinho regretted the breach of expectation.
"We are back in Toronto after many years, but it wasn't the qualifying we expected. We were expecting something much better and we will start 17th and 18th. We felt we could have a better result," said the Brazilian after qualifying.
Even coming from the back of the grid, Castroneves believes he can have a good recovery race, as he did two weeks ago at Mid-Ohio, coming from 15th to finish eighth. That's because Toronto's street circuit usually makes victims and opens opportunities for twists and turns throughout the race.

"I lost a little bit in the setup of the car, but that doesn't mean we can't have a great race, because Toronto delivers a lot of entertainment. So be ready, buckle up or get your drinks ready, because it's going to be a lot of fun!
American Colton Herta confirmed Andretti's favoritism and took his second pole position of the 2022 Indy season. The start of the Toronto GP is scheduled for 4 pm EST, with full coverage by GRANDE PRÊMIO.
