Devlin DeFrancesco has a contract with Andretti until 2023, but the team is evaluating other drivers and is considering giving up the Canadian driver at the end of the season. Ex-F3 driver is only 23rd in the championship

With only one win in the 2022 Indy season, Andretti is considering another change in its driver lineup for the next championship. After Alexander Rossi left the team to join McLaren, with Kyle Kirkwood taking his place, the team is still considering whether to keep Canadian Devlin DeFrancesco.
According to the website of the American magazine Racer, Andretti has started a consultation looking for different names that could occupy the #29 car once the 2022 season is over. No driver has been named. Even if he signs a two-season contract, Devlin is in danger of being dropped.
Ex-Formula 3 driver, the Italian-Canadian was promoted to Andretti in 2022 to replace compatriot James Hinchcliffe. Even with unimpressive results in the Indy Lights, he won the spot because of the financial contribution. In 12 races, his best result so far has been 15th place in the Iowa 2 GP. He is the team's only driver outside the top-15 in the championship.

For 2023, Andretti has guaranteed contracts with American Colton Herta, currently eighth in the championship, and Frenchman Romain Grosjean, who is 14th. After one season at Foyt, Kyle Kirkwood will take over the #27 in place of Alexander Rossi, who leaves for McLaren after six seasons with Michael Andretti's team.
Indy returns on July 30 with the Indianapolis GP 2, on the mixed track at the Speedway. It will be the 13th of the 17 rounds of the 2022 championship.
