Edoardo Mortara won another race in Marrakech to take the lead, but Stoffel Vandoorne limited damage after a brake problem and remains in contention for the Formula E title
Edoardo Mortara's victory in the Formula E eP Marrakech last weekend elevated the Venturi driver directly to the championship lead. Stoffel Vandoorne, then the leader of the classification, had to start at the bottom of the grid and made a real race to recover, but it was not enough to keep the lead.
With the lead in the Drivers' World Championship with three double rounds to go - and an exuberant phase, with four consecutive podiums and 90 points in the last four races - Mortara naturally placed himself as a favorite for the title, especially with Jean-Èric Vergne's difficulty in securing his first win of the season.

The then leader dropped straight down to third, saw Vergne take second place, and even started feeling the pressure from Mitch Evans. However, with the level he has been demonstrating in 2022 and the regularity he has managed to achieve race after race, it is impossible to imagine that the fight is close to a definition - especially because of the small difference in points in the table.
So, besides highlighting Mortara's current performance, JP Nascimento's video this week deals precisely with the recovery of Vandoorne, who showed a lot of will - and competence - to climb more than half of one of the most balanced grid of today and leave a message: he is more than alive in the battle for the Cup.
