Sette Câmara sits out race 1 in New York after qualifying crash

Sérgio Sette Câmara will not run race 1 of the New York eP, this Saturday (16), in Brooklyn. The Brazilian suffered an accident on his first lap in qualifying when he lost the rear end of his car in the dreaded turn 14, hit the wall hard and heavily damaged his Dragon car. As the team was unable to repair the damage in time to line up on the grid, the mineiro is out of the race.

The season has been frustrating so far for Sette Câmara, one of only two drivers who have failed to score even once so far in the season - the other is his teammate, Antonio Giovinazzi.

Despite recording good times in qualifying - unlike what happened this Saturday - the Brazilian driver suffers from the Dragon car's lack of power and the difficulty of regenerating energy, and has usually been fighting in the last positions.

The pole position was taken by Envision's Nick Cassidy, and the start is scheduled for 2 pm (Brasília time).
