The first images of McLaren's Gen3 single-seater for its Formula E debut next year were released by the team on Monday alongside the Extreme E car

McLaren has finally revealed the first images of the car it will use in its first venture into Formula E, starting in the 2022/2023 season. Leaving aside the peculiar features of the new Gen3 single-seater that the category will implement next year, the British team's car is very similar to the Formula 1 one, with the same choice of colors.
The first images were released by McLaren on its social networks, along with a demonstration of the model that will be used by Emma Gilmour and Tanner Foust in the Extreme E race.

What is already known, however, is that the first car of Zak Brown's team in Formula E will feature Nissan's powertrain, in a deal that had been sewn up for some time and was officially announced by the British team last week. The team from Woking will replace Mercedes, which will withdraw from the grid of the category from next year and will have its team absorbed by the British team.
The first tests with the new Gen3 cars of the category are already being carried out, and McLaren is entitled to four days of testing with the Nissan car - its official supplier - necessarily with the same single seater and the same battery level, and the same track conditions.
