Formula E will conduct tests with participation of supplier teams to assess whether new fast battery recharging equipment can bring pit-stops back to the category in 2023
Among the many changes planned for next year - with the wheelchair dance among drivers, the debut of Gen3 cars, and the entry of new teams - Formula E is preparing another novelty: the return of pit-stops, one of the objectives of the category for next season. The stops were part of the races for the first four seasons of the sport, but were abandoned after the implementation of Gen2 cars.

Therefore, Formula E will conduct some tests with the teams that supply the category with new fast battery recharging equipment during the month of June. The tests are intended to evaluate whether the technology can, in fact, work in the electric single-seater category. If the result is positive, the measure is seen as fundamental to increase the number of strategic possibilities within the races.
While the UK-based teams will conduct their tests in England, the other European teams will carry out their simulations in a territory not yet disclosed - but within Europe. Despite the novelty, there are still expectations as to whether the technology will in fact apply to the category and also in relation to the costs that it may generate for the teams. This is what João Pedro Nascimento talks about in this week's video.
