Formula E reaches the halfway point of the season with a heated fight for the 2022 title

With eight of 16 stages completed, Stoffel Vandoorne leads Formula E for Mercedes, but sees shadows closing in and only 30 points separate him from fifth-placed Robin Frijns

Last weekend, Formula E held its eighth round in 2022: race 2 of the Berlin eP, won by Dutchman Nyck de Vries - his first win since the championship's opening race in Diriyah. And with half of the season complete, Stoffel Vandoorne goes on to win his bi for Mercedes, but with direct threats from the fast Edoardo Mortara and the consistent - and two-time champion - Jean-Èric Vergne.

In today's video, João Pedro Nascimento discusses a bit about the title race at the top of Formula E, which still involves other characters in a fight that should unfold until the last moments of the season. To get an idea of the balance, the eight races have already had five different winners, as only three drivers have achieved more than one victory.

And not even wins are a guarantee of a climb up the table, as third-placed Vergne and fifth-placed Robin Frijns are still winless, yet still ahead of De Vries - who has two wins. The Formula E title race is on fire, and - especially with the double-days ahead - the battle is likely to go on to the very end with a lot of balance at the top.
