Formula E's time in New York was quite eventful, with two drivers winning for the first time, a bizarre accident in the first race and a retake of the lead, and a 'piti' from Jean-Èric Vergne

Formula E held its last scheduled race in New York this past weekend, as the venue is no longer on the schedule for 2022. And Brooklyn bade farewell to the category with excitement in both races, with a bizarre accident - which could have ended in tragedy - ending race 1 and Stoffel Vandoorne back in the lead after his great performance in the second race.
Despite the lead back in the Mercedes garage, the highlight of the weekend could not be any other than Nick Cassidy. After taking pole last year, the Envision driver simply dominated the weekend's qualifying and secured the two positions of honor in New York, including his first win in the category by triumphing in race 1.

The point was that the New Zealander was punished for changing his car's battery and radiator after the catastrophic accident the day before, and António Félix da Costa was awarded pole, which he did not waste and used to secure his first of the year.
Lucas Di Grassi also did well in the first race of the weekend, making good use of the attack modes and following the Venturi strategy to secure second place - also involved in the widespread crash that ended race 1 and the piti that made Jean-Èric Vergne leave the circuit.
With so many events in the same weekend, JP Nascimento prepared a review of the Formula E race in New York before the final two rounds that will decide the championship, in London and Seoul. Come check it out with us!
