Formula E has announced a series of time additions after the chaotic New York eP. Championship leader Edoardo Mortara dropped from 5th to 9th in the final race standings

Formula E announced on Saturday night (16) the distribution of a range of punishments hours after the early closure of the New York 1 eP, some sanctions with great importance in the championship.
The main one is for championship leader Edoardo Mortara, of Venturi, who for exceeding the speed limit in the period under yellow flag, earned a five-second penalty, which dropped him from 5th to 9th in the final race standings. His lead over Mercedes' Stoffel Vandoorne has now dropped to five points.
A similar sanction was given to Andretti's Jake Dennis and Jaguar's Mitch Evans, who committed the same irregularity. Dennis now drops from 8th to 10th, while Evans followed in 11th place.

Porsche's Andre Lotterer, a German, had 10 seconds added to his final race time for causing an accident with DS Techeetah's Antonio Felix da Costa. Meanwhile, Andretti's American Oliver Askew was punished 21 seconds for not using the mandatory attack mode.
The New York 1 eP was won by Envision's Nick Cassidy from New Zealand, with Brazil's Lucas Di Grassi second and Dutchman Robin Frijns third. The cars compete again tomorrow in the second race of the New York double round.
