Formula E already has a well-designed calendar for the 2023 season, the ninth in the history of the category. The definition occurred on Wednesday (29), at a meeting of the FIA's World Motor Sport Council in Paris. In all, 18 races are scheduled, spread over 13 rounds, a championship record.

The highest mark was precisely that of 2022, in the schedule that foresees 16 races in 10 rounds. For 2023, with the debut of Gen3, the new cars in the category, Formula E expands its horizons even further, visiting places like India, in Hyderabad, and, of course, Brazil, with the São Paulo eP expected to take place on March 25.

The opening had already been announced for Mexico and will take place on January 14, two weeks before the Saudi Arabia double round in Diriyah. Then comes the debut of Hyderabad, and then two rounds that have not yet had their venues defined, until the category arrives in Sao Paulo at the end of the third month of the year.

Another reserved date that has not yet been decided is June 24th. Berlin, present in all the other eight seasons, is back on the calendar, as is Monaco. Seoul, Jakarta, Rome, and London close the program, all four with double rounds planned.

Although it is a tradition for the category to end the season earlier than others, in 2023 this will be even more pronounced. While the opening takes place in the second week of the year, the closing is scheduled for the last weekend of July in London.

Formula E's pre-season has been scheduled for late 2022, with four days of group testing expected on December 11, 12, 13 and 14 in Valencia.

"From the first leg in Mexico City to the end in London, everything is set for Formula E's most successful season yet. Engineers and sustainability experts have worked together to make Gen3, a car that shows that it is possible to unite high performance and sustainability without anything being compromised," said Jamie Reigle, CEO of Formula E.

Formula E is heading into the final stretch of the 2022 season. There are only seven races left, in four rounds: Marrakech, New York, London, and Seoul, which ends the year with a double round.
