Evans shatters championship with win in Jakarta, and four drivers are fighting for Formula E

Mitch Evans' victory last Saturday (4), when Formula E held its first ever Jakarta ep, shook the championship's structures. If the competition seemed unpredictable before the arrival of the category in Indonesia, the situation is different before the next round in Marrakech.

Of the top four drivers in the standings, only leader Stoffel Vandoorne missed out on the podium in Jakarta - he was fifth. With Evans first, Jean-Èric Vergne second and Edoardo Mortara third, the New Zealander is now only 12 points behind first place - even though he is fourth.

Thus, the title race becomes much more complicated from fifth place - Robin Frijns - onward. Although it is not impossible, it would be necessary for the Dutchman to have a historic second half of the championship to be able to take the 40 points that separate him from the leader.

However, everything is still open between the top four - even more so than before. Vandoorne has 121 points, compared to Vergne's 116, Mortara's 114, and Evans' 108. All are in contention, especially if one takes into account that the championship foresees only one more round in a single race - precisely the next one.

So, with three double-headers ahead and only 12 points separating the first from the fourth place, Formula E promises an exciting second half of the season, with a fight for the title that should last until the last breaths of the championship. And JP Nascimento analyzes the scenario.
