Di Grassi emphasizes recovery after climbing the peloton in Marrakech: "Duty fulfilled".

Lucas di Grassi didn't manage to qualify well at the Marrakech eP, held last weekend, and had to make a recovery run in Formula E. With Venturi clearly showing good pace in Morocco, the Brazilian driver succeeded and gained five positions from the start - he was tenth - and finished with the fastest lap of the race - which also represented the track record: 1min20s909, the only lap under 1min21s among all the drivers on the grid.

After the disputed race in Marrakech - which, like Jakarta, made the drivers sweat with the strong heat - Di Grassi pointed out that his challenge became even more difficult right at the start, with the loss of two positions. Thus, even at the beginning of the race, the road became longer. However, the Brazilian celebrated the performance of the Venturi single-seater - which allowed him to reach the top-5 and also brought Edoardo Mortara the victory.

"It was a good race. At the start it was already complicated, I lost two positions. So, in fact, I went from 12th to fifth during the race," he stressed. "I had a very good pace and the fastest lap, a track record, which gave me an extra point. So I scored 11 points today, it could have been better for the pace, for the performance we had, but I leave here with my head held high, duty fulfilled, and we will have six more races to get more podiums and keep the team in first place in the championship," he finished.

As Di Grassi said, Venturi took the lead in the Constructors' World Championship after the Marrakech round. Saturday (2) was bad for Mercedes, which lost the lead and fell directly to third place, behind DS Techeetah. The fight remains open between the three, with only seven points separating the leaders (205) from third (198).

Di Grassi also moved up in the Drivers' World Championship standings, leaving the two Porsche drivers behind as he climbed from tenth to eighth with 66 points. Formula E returns in two weeks, with the eP New York double round scheduled to take place on July 16 and 17.
