Roy Nissany will lose three grid positions in the main Formula 2 race in Austria after causing a serious accident with Dennis Hauger at Silverstone

Israeli DAMS driver Roy Nissany has received a five-place grid penalty in the upcoming Formula 2 race in Austria after causing an accident with Norwegian Dennis Hauger during race 2 at Silverstone last Sunday (3).
In the accident, the DAMS driver forced Hauger off the track when trying to defend himself from an overtake on the first lap. The Norwegian went through a "sausage" zebra at turn 16 and took off, hitting the Israeli and causing double abandonment. The Halo was crucial to avoid serious injuries to Nissany.

In addition to the punishment to be served in Austria, Nissany also received three punishment points on his license, bringing his season total to six. If he reaches 12, the Israeli will be suspended for one round, which happened to Belgian Van Amersfoot's Amaury Cordeel at Silverstone.
A reserve driver for Williams in Formula 1, Nissany is in his fourth season in Formula 2. In the 2022 championship, he occupies 17th place with DAMS, with fourth place in race 1 in Imole as his best result so far. Prema's Hauger is 10th, with 2 wins.
The Austrian round of Formula 2 takes place next weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. The short race takes place on Saturday (9th), and the main race on Sunday (10th).
