Ralph Boschung is back for 2022 for another season in F2, but it's been quite a bumpy ride. The Swiss simply missed three rounds, and apparently the bill is going to get a lot bigger. On Wednesday (6), Campos announced that Boschung will stop indefinitely due to neck pain, and will be replaced by the even more experienced Roberto Merhi.

The point is that Ralph's neck pains have been bothering him since the double round at Imole, the third round of the championship. Boschung, who had made a great start to the championship, missed the races in Spain and Monaco, returned on a sacrifice in Azerbaijan, missed England, and has already announced that he will not race in Austria.

But the expectation now is that Boschung will miss even more time. Because this time Campos has announced a replacement, with Merhi filling the gap and lining up with Oli Caldwell, a British rider who remains zero for 2022.

In a few races this year, Ralph managed a podium and two other top-five finishes, scoring 34 points in 8 races, with a points average that would put him in the fight for the current fifth place in the championship if he had a full season.

At 31, Merhi has even been to Formula 1, making the 2015 season with Manor. In F2, he appeared in 2017 and 2018, always in partial program format.
