Yamamoto sees Red Bull stronger than Ferrari at Paul Ricard

Masashi Yamamoto had already said that he doesn't think Ferrari has changed things in their favor, but he still sees an opportunity for the Reds in one of the next races. That opportunity will not be in France, where the former Honda boss believes Red Bull will have the advantage.

Masashi Yamamoto had already said that he doesn't think Ferrari has changed things in their favor, but he still sees an opportunity for the Reds in one of the next races. That opportunity will not be in France, where the former Honda boss believes Red Bull will have the advantage.

The former Honda F1 boss, now as a consultant to Red Bull Racing's engine division, believes that Verstappen and Perez will have the advantage in France. Part of the reason lies in the altitude at which the circuit is located, about four hundred meters above sea level. In addition, it is a high-speed track, an area where Red Bull has proven to be strong this season

Red Bull at an advantage in France?

"I think France is more in Red Bull's favor, so we can't miss this opportunity," he told Japanese. "In Hungary, on the other hand, I feel Ferrari will have an advantage because they have better traction in low and medium speeds."

Yamamoto believes that Red Bull will have an answer for this, as they want to finish the two races before the summer break showing strength. Whether the French GP will really be a Red Bull weekend remains to be seen, as Ferrari has made progress to keep up with top speed and Mercedes has also indicated that they should enter the fray.
