World Council, changes to F1 regulations

The FIA World Motor Council met today in Paris to approve some changes to Formula 1's sporting and technical regulations . Teams are allowed to swap engines in closed park conditions for newer versions that"have been included in their rotations" (not swapping new UP indefinitely without punishment). In addition, the FIA has added a provision to the regulations to allow temporary repairs of power units.

The World Motor Racing Council also discussed the future rules on power units for 2026, but,as also anticipated by , has not reached the definition of a definitive regulation. The bending tests were also updated to check the flexibility of the rear wings and the rearview mirror rules to improve visibility.

After the problems some teams encountered this year with the cooling offuel pre-race, teams will now be able to bring gasoline to 20°C in the hottest races. Finally,the advance of the press conferences to Thursday has also been made official: the Friday experiment is therefore abolished. It starts at Silverstone, with two groups of five drivers speaking in conference (Alonso, Vettel, Schumacher, Perez and Norris in group 1, Zhou, Gasly, Hamilton, Leclerc and Latifi in group 2). The other ten will do it
