Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has reminded all teams that have flexible floors that this part of the car is against the new sporting regulations. The Austrian believes that several of his opponents will have to make changes for the Belgian GP, and at that same race he hopes to get clarification for 2023.

Mercedes has criticized its rivals' flexible floors, which they say offer an advantage that is not allowed by the regulations. Wolff maintains that the displacement is not in accordance with the regulations and hopes that with the new technical directive that we will see from Belgium , it will disappear more what gave this legal vacuum to their opponents.

" I think the flexible floors will disappear for Spa and we will clarify that in the regulations next season. Some teams have skids that disappear when the car hits bottom and those skids are limiting all the ground wear you can have," Wolff acknowledged in words published by the Racing News 365 portal.

"If that skid can miraculously disappear into the ground, that's clearly against the regulations. The second thing is if there is a board that can move or that simply drifts further away than the regulations allow," he added.

Wolff reminds that, according to the regulations, no more than one millimeter of movement is allowed. All teams that have a displacement greater than that indicated by the regulations have gained an illegal advantage that, according to the Austrian, will disappear once they return to action after the summer break at the Belgian GP.

"The tolerance, what is allowed is one millimeter and if it moves more than that distance inside the car, obviously you are gaining extra performance with that bottom," Toto expressed in closing.
