Williams has been fined €1,000 after using an electronically returned set of tires on Alex Albon's car in Hungary.

In what was described as an "administrative oversight," Williams put a set of tires that had already been electronically returned to Pirelli on Albon's car during Q1.

The stewards gave the team a fine of 1,000 euros, but Albon will not lose any grid position.

In any case, it was a disappointing qualifying for Williams, as Albon starts 17th and his teammate Nicholas Latifi last.

"The commissioners heard from the team representative for car 23 and the technical delegate, determining that, due to an administrative oversight, the team incorrectly indicated the reference number of a set of tires it was returning to the tire supplier within the time specified in the regulations," the report stated.

"The technical delegate confirmed that this was probably an administrative error by the team because an unused set of tires was returned within the time as stipulated by the regulations."

"Even so, it was a technical violation of the regulation, so we gave the team a fine of 1,000 euros."
