Sebastian Vettel has revealed who he would choose to replace him at Aston Martin, and it's no surprise that he wants to see Mick Schumacher in his place.
As Formula One prepared for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Thursday, Vettel shocked the paddock by announcing that this season is his last in the category.
The four-time world champion cited a desire to spend more time with his family as the main reason for ending his career.
Aston Martin, having previously said there was no plan B, will now begin the search for a new driver. Vettel has already given his opinion.
"Obviously, I've spoken to Lawrence (Stroll) and told him I'm not going to continue," Vettel told . "We had a very brief conversation about what might come next."
"I have my opinion. I consider Mick to be excellent. I am not entirely objective because I am very good friends with him, but I believe he is a very good driver."
"He keeps learning when others get stagnant or stop progressing. He has qualities, but he is also still quite young, he doesn't have that much experience."
"I don't know, it's not my decision. If you ask me, I will give my opinion without fear. But at the end of the day, the team will have to make that decision.
