Family, defense of a more energy sustainable world, sports issue... Vettel's retirement is saddening, but not necessarily surprising. The reporter Felipe Leite approaches the theme in today's video

Youngest world champion in Formula 1 history, 3rd on the list of the category's greatest winners, four-time world champion... at the end of 2022, Sebastian Vettel will say goodbye to the sport he loves so much - with an enviable resume and the legacy of being one of F1's leading legends.
But why the retirement, as announced in the early hours of this Thursday via a newly made Instagram account? One can justify Vettel's decision in three different pillars. The first, family-related.
The German made it very clear in his account that he wants to spend more time with his wife and children, and that "my passion for the sport and F1 means a lot of time away from the family and takes a lot of my energy. Committing myself to my passion - the way I did and the way I believe is right - is no longer compatible with my desire to be a great father and husband.
Secondly, there is also the issue of the incompatibility between being a Formula One driver and, at the same time, being such an assiduous advocate of a more energetically sustainable world, in favor of the environment.
Finally, it is impossible to ignore the purely sporting issue. Vettel took a risk, but Aston Martin was not able to provide a car that could compete for wins and, who knows, even a title.
